Pinoy Pork Adobo (Adobong Baboy)

How to Cook Pinoy Pork Adobo (Adobong Baboy)
Here's the simply way to cook the pinoy's famous Adobo. There are different types of adobo, but now, we are going to make a Pork Adobo or the Adobong Baboy.

Here's the ingredients and the procedures.

Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs/900g pork (cut into cubes)
  • 2/3 cup of soy sauce
  • 2/3 cup of vinegar
  • oil
  • garlic (crushed)
  • onion
  • 1 dried bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (brown or white)
  • 1 to 2 cups of water
  • salt
  • ground pepper
There are two ways of cooking pork adobo. Just choose what procedure you like.

Procedure #1:
  1. Combine the soy sauce, garlic, bay leaves and the pork into a large container and marinade for 2 to 3 hours.
  2. Heat the cooking pan and add the cooking oil.
  3. Saute garlic and onions and add the marinated pork and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the remaining sauce remained and add some water. Cook until boil.
  5. Add the dried bay leaves and cook for 20 to 30 minutes until the pork is tender. Then add the vinegar.
  6. Add sugar, salt and ground pepper for taste.
  7. Remove from heat and tranfer into serving bowl.
  8. Serve to your family and enjoy!
Procedure #2:
  1. Heat the cooking pan.
  2. Add the oil and saute the garlic and onions.
  3. Add the pork and cook in 5 minutes.
  4. Add the soy sauce, vinegar and dried bay leaves.
  5. Add some water and cook for 20-30 minutes until the pork is tender.
  6. Add the sugar, small amount of salt and ground pepper for taste. Just follow your desire taste and stir.
  7. Remove from heat and place into serving bowl.
  8. Serve while hot.

Other suggestions:
You can also add boil egg in your adobo. And sprinkle with onion leaves on the top.
Also there are different types of adobos that you can made. You can also try:
Chicken Adobo (Adobong Manok)
Squid Adobo (Adobong Pusit)
Liver Adobo (Adobong Atay ng Baboy o Manok)

Some people like sweet adobo, some like sweet-sour. Some other add potatos on their adobos. Also, if you like a little hot and spicy adobo, just add green/chili pepper.  It depends on your taste. :)
