Simple Pork Menudo

How to Cook Simple Pinoy Pork Menudo

There are different ways on how to make your favorite pork menudo. The one that I am sharing, is the simple pork menudo that usually we were eating and serving at home.



Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs pork (cut into cubes)
  • carrots, cut into cubes
  • potatoes, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup of soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup tomato sauce
  • hotdog, cut diagonally
  • garlic (crushed)
  • onions (chopped)
  • dried bay leaves
  • cooking oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • sugar
  • water

Some suggestions:
If you like, you can also add some pig's liver, some bell pepper and green peas.
There's also some ways to cook your favorite pork menudo. Just choose what procedure appropriate to you.

Procedure #1:
  1. Combine the pork, soy sauce, garlic, small amount of pepper and dried bay leaves in a large container to marinate for at least 1-2hours.
  2. Heat the pan and add some oil. Saute the garlic and onions.
  3. Add the marinated pork. Stir and cook for at least 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the tomato sauce, dried bay leaves.
  5. Add some water and cook until boil for 20-30 minutes, until pork is tender.
  6. Add the hotdogs (and pig's liver, if you have) and cook for atleast 5-10 minutes.
  7. Add the carrots, potato and bell pepper
  8. Add the sugar, salt and pepper and adjust the desire taste.
  9. Cook for atlest 10 minutes.
  10. Remove from heat and transfer into serving bowl.
  11. Serve with family and enjoy.
Procedure #2:
  1. Heat the pan and add some oil.
  2. Saute the garlic and onions.
  3. Add the pork. Stir and cook for atleast 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the tomato sauce and dried bay leaves. 
  5. Add some water and cook until boil for 20-30 minutes, until pork is tender.
  6. Add the carrots, potato and bell pepper
  7. Add the sugar, salt and pepper and adjust the desire taste.
  8. Cook for atlest 10 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and transfer into serving bowl.
  10. Serve with family and enjoy.
Other suggestions:
You can also cook chicken menudo with the same procedure. Add some grees peas, bell pepper and onion leaves for colorful and tasty menudo. :)
