How to Make Sweet and Sour Fish (Tilapia)
Sweet and Sour Fish is a commonly dish we prepared for our family. Specially in some provinces, where they're rich in fishes. We are using the whole fish like grouper (lapu-lapu) or the common fish tilapia. Today, we were making simple delicious sweet and sour tilapia.
Ingredients:
- Whole tilapia or Lapu-Lapu
- Garlic (crushed)
- Onions (chopped)
- Ginger (cut into strings)
- Vinegar
- Tomato paste or tomato sauce
- White or brown sugar
- salt, pepper
- Carrots (cut into string)
- You can also add bell pepper (green and red) and pineapple chunks if you want.
- You can also add cornstarch (Just make sure to dissolve it in water)
- Water
- oil
Procedure #1:
To make it more special, sprinkled with parsley or onion leaves.
- Heat the pan and add oil. Make sure the oil is hot.
- Fried the fish. Make sure to cook it equally, brown and crispy.
- When finished, remove from heat and set aside.
- You can use the same pan. Add oil. Saute the garlic, onions and ginger.
- Add the carrots and the bell pepper (red and green).
- Add 1 cup of water and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the tomato paste or the tomato sauce and vinegar. Mix.
- Add pineapple chunks if have one.
- Add the dissolve cornstarch if you have one.
- Add sugar, salt and pepper. Adjust the taste to your desired flavor.
- Remove from heat and pour the sauce on top of the tilapia.
- Serve with family and enjoy.

If you want to make it hot and spicy, just put red chili pepper or siling labuyo if you have. Cut into strings for strong spicy flavor.
